How to travel to Kefalonia & Ithaca islands

Kefalonia can be reached either by airplane at the airport of Argostoli, or by boat to the ports of Argostoli, Sami and Poros, or by intercity bus (KTEL). Access to the National Park is possible following Argostoli-Sami road. The distance from the relevant junction (altitude 900 m) to the old Air Force facilities (Radar area) is 5.5 km. Then you can reach the entrance of the core zone of the National Park (altitude about 1,000 m) at a distance of 1.5 km and if you continue to the mountain Enviromental centre (altitude 1,200 m), at a distance of 2 km. From this point there are about 6.5 km left to the Antenna Park (altitude 1,600 m) following an asphalt road of excellent quality. Ithaca can be reached by ferry boat from Sami Port of Kefalonia.
